My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

1/5/2010 update from Petey's foster: Petey is an absolute character. I have never met a dog with more personality. He makes my husband and I laugh constantly. He and our female pit are very close- they play and cuddle together constantly. Petey went to day care for a few days and got along with all the other dogs. He has been around small children and did well with them but would probably do better in a home where the children are stable on their feet as he does love to run and play. Petey needs some training but he is sooooo worth it, he is the most snuggly, loving boy- I just adore him.
Update 11/15/09: Morris (a.k.a.) Petey's foster tells us that he is a super cute and sweet boy! He is doing an outstanding job on housetraining, is getting along well with his foster's dogs and only chews on toys. He can be trusted in the kitchen by himself. Morris has learned the commands 'sit' and 'down'. The foster is working on leash manners with him and he has gotten much better. They are working on mouthiness in his play, so Morris may not be ready to go to a home with very small children. 11/9/09 Morris is here in Maine! We are so happy for him to have finally made it out- he has lived along time in a very small space so he is having a ball enjoying the normal freedoms we take for granted. He is agood boy that deserves some love and patience and a second chance at life. 10-30-09 HELP this guy please! Morris (a.k.a. Petey)has been boarded at the vet's office down south for months and they can't keep him any longer. He is out of time, and he is SUCH a sweet boy. We met him when we went to Arkansas and he was nothing but a gentleman, enjoying the company of people and other dogs - he seems to prefer female dogs.

Please consider helping this handsome guy. He is crate-trained (TOO much crate time, in fact!) and may need a refresher on housetraining because he has not been living in a home for so long, but he's an adult guy who seems so eager to please so it should be a piece of cake.
