I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Introducing Duke. Duke is a 4 year old German Shepherd. At one point Duke was a loved part of a family. He knows his basic obedience commands (sit, down, shake), and is housebroke. Duke found himself a stray and his family didn't come looking for him. Duke has been bounced around quite a bit in the last two months and developed some anxiety as most dogs would not knowing where they belong. Duke ended up at animal control and luckily for him they saw his true potential and asked BDBH to have a look at him. Duke is currently a diamond in the rough, he didn't like being away from his people in the kennel at animal control. He dug up his nose trying to get out, and would wag his tail so fiercely when people would come up that he broke it and had to have part of it amputated.
Duke is enjoying knowing that he can stay in his foster home until his forever home is found. He does well with other dogs, although a female housemate would be best. He also does well with cats that are confident around dogs. Duke is a big boy currently weighing in at 85 pounds and needing to gain about 10. German Shepherd experienced owners will be best for Duke.
Duke has been in his foster home about 2 months now. He is a very good boy in the house, he has had no accidents, and is not desctructive. He is crated while I am at work and does very well. He is friendly and playful with the five other males, and one female dog that he lives with. He does well with the cats. Duke is friendly towards all people at meet and greets including children. He would do best without children in his home due to the added commotion of friends coming over. Being a typical shepherd he has quite the loud bark when visitors come over.
