My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dusty is one handsome 8-year-old boy who still has a little puppy power running through his veins! Every now and then he gets all fired up and loves to play and race around the house then it is back to rest and relaxation. He loves to go for walks, have his belly rubbed, and have sweet nothings whispered into his ears! Dusty also seems to be quite the handy-“basset”, he has shown a real interest in plumbing or whatever the daily chore seems to be. Dusty is currently learning how to fix a toilet and is right there with you ready, able, and willing to assist in any way he can. Dusty’s favorite place to be is next to you. He loves sleeping on a fluffy dog pillow, afternoon naps, is always part of the “welcome to my house” committee, easily sleeps through the night, doesn’t chew on anything except his bones or toys, is 100% house broken, and is just a great dog. He is excellent in the car/truck and loves to go rides of any kind. Dusty has conveniently forgotten some of his basic commands so his forever home will need to continue his practice sessions which hedoes very well with. Dusty isn’t sure how he feels about cats, he really hasn’t been around too many of them, but definitely shows an interest in them. He was an only dog so he is learning how to interact with other dogs. Dusty is doing great and is getting better with every visit to my daughter’s house that has two Basset Hounds and a cat. Dusty seems to get along with the older more subdued Basset Hound more quickly than the active younger one. Dusty would be a great only dog or would fit fine into a house with older more subdued dogs. Dusty is good with children but prefers older children (10 or older)
.Update on Dusty - 6/30/05:
Dusty’s personality has certainly blossomed during this stay with his foster dad! He is so funny and loves to sit on your feet. He really has a sweet disposition and loves to be right at your side. He isn’t the happiest when you leave and will bark that information to you because he feels that communication is very important in a family but will be all wags and kisses when you return. Dusty is great with other dogs (even the younger ones) and is very good around the cat. Since I don’t have small children I can’t answer that one from experience but I do know that he loves to stop and say Hello to all of them while we are out and about. Dusty is a beautiful boy with a heart of gold! Wouldn’t you love to share you life with him today?
