LeRoy's Story...
LeRoy is a friendly, loving abandoned pet, left in an alley in Washington, DC. He wants all the attention from his human, and doesn’t want to share affection with any other cats – so he would be best as an only cat – thus his name – he wants to be THE KING! He is also big, strong and beautiful, so he will make a great king of your household! Try shaking feather wands at him, and watch him take out after the “birdy”! LeRoy especially enjoys sleeping in bed with his person – he wants to curl up and join you at bedtime!

LeRoy appeared in an alley in Columbia Heights, DC, when an irresponsible woman just dumped all her cats outside. Her condo association said she had too many, so out they went! Over the coming weeks her neighbors kept reporting hungry, sweet, former pets in their back yards, so Four Paws has found homes for some super-nice kitties who should not have been abandoned on the mean streets.

LeRoy is 2 -3 years old. He was already neutered, and now has his vaccinations updated. He tests negative for FIV/FeLV. He is ready for a new home and family who will give him all the love and attention he deserves.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LeRoy, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
