Goodness's Story...
Sweet and talkative, Goodness is a true survivor. She has come a long way, against all odds and expectations.

When Goodness first came to 4Paws she was critically wounded and not expected to survive the night. In what turned out to be a successful effort to protect her 2-week old kittens from a vicious dog attack, Goodness suffered life-threatening injuries. She was almost torn in half in the attack, but after several surgeries and thanks to her strong will to live, Goodness did survive and now more than anything she wants a home and family to love.

Goodness is a wonderfully sweet cat, terrific with children and loves attention. She is very adventurous and loves to play—can be quite entertaining to watch. Every night, during quieter times, she snuggles up with the 10 year old boy in her foster home.

While Goodness is sweet and loving with people, she is aggressive with other animals—both cats and, understandably, dogs. It’s imperative that Goodness be the only pet in the house.

Goodness is one year old. She tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV and is current on her vaccines. Goodness has been through a lot of hardship during her first year of life. In spite of nearly giving her life to save her baby kittens and a long and painful recovery from life threatening injuries, Goodness remains an affectionate and sweet-natured girl. All she wants now is a family to love who will give her a safe and loving home for the rest of her life.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Goodness, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
