Tess's Story...
Tess is a beautiful tri-color petite female basset hound. She has the softest fur I have ever felt on a dog. She is a happy girl, loves to bark, play with her squeaky toys and sit up and beg. That's one of her best tricks. Tess is about 5 years old and loves to run through the house with her foster sister and brother. She loves to go on walks and would really like to sleep in the bed with you. We have to move her to her dog bed every night, but towards morning, we always seem to find her sleeping between us. She is doggie door trained and is left at home with the other dogs for about 9 hours a day. She loves to lay on your lap, that is her favorite place to spend an evening. She gets along well with the two dogs in our house and loves the young grand kids. She has not met a person she does not like!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tess, a Phoenix Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
