Reese's Story...
Reese is a Miniature Pinscher puppy - maybe a mix, maybe not. In any case, all that matters is that he's an adorable, happy fella. Although he's very new to his foster home, he already has his foster mom wrapped around his little paw, as you can see. She says that he's not nearly as hyper as she expected of a Min Pin puppy. He plays well with other dogs, and when her Yorkie growls at him to show him who's boss, he takes the hint and runs off somewhere else to play. Smart puppy. Since Reese is so new to his foster home, he's still on his most polite behavior. Instead of jumping right up onto the couch he sneaks up, checking all faces to make sure it's okay. He snuggles up in bed and doesn't move the whole night, and is 90% housebroken - as long as you let him out regularly there are no accidents. Right on target for a puppy his age and size. Reese is so good in the house that his foster mom can trust him to stay alone, uncrated. He hasn't tried to chase the cats, although it hasn't been enough time yet to tell if this part of the 'polite new boy' period, of if it's a way of life. Stay tuned for more news about Reese!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Reese, a Athens Miniature Pinscher puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Miniature Pinscher for sale in Athens, or seeking a Miniature Pinscher puppy from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Miniature Pinscher breeders who help with Miniature Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
