Dali's Story...
Like the famous artist I was named after I’m a work in progress. I was picked up off the streets by the local animal control officer. Thankfully on the day I was to be put down the NASPR volunteer came and saved me. When the volunteer came to get me my eyes were almost matted shut, I was so sunburned my skin was peeling, and my black coat was bleached to a redish tint is some areas. I’m a male black brush coat approximately one to two years of age. I am heartworm negative and in good health and am scheduled for entropion surgery on my eyes soon so they won't bother me any more. Because I’m young I’m full of energy, I love to play, and I like to chew on things. Thankfully my foster mom and dad understand my youthful exuberance and have provided me with plenty of things to chew on like pig ears and various other kinds of chew toys. I get along well with my other foster brothers and sisters both four and two legged. I’m also cat friendly. If you would like to make me a permanent member of your family or if you just want to be my guardian angel by sponsoring my upcoming eye surgeries please fill out an application and/or send your donation today.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dali, a Houston Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei for sale in Houston, or seeking a Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei breeders who help with Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
