Gretta's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Gretta's Story...
After six years my family had a new baby and decided they didn’t want my male companion and I any longer. My companion was older than I am and had always suffered from separation anxiety. My new friends at NASPR tracked my family down and convinced them that my companion could not handle a change like this in his life. They compromised and agreed to take him back home. It seemed he was not going to make it otherwise. I, on the other hand have always been a loving but independent gal. I’m a six year old black horsecoat female . I am spayed and heartworm negative. I’m somewhat dominant with other dogs but I get along well with my other foster brothers and sisters (both two and four legged including the cat). I sit on command and my foster mom says I’m extremely well behaved. If you’re looking for a girl who is a little bit more mature but with a lot of spunk left in her then I’m your gal. I'm anxious to once again have my own family. This time, I just know it will be for life.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gretta, a Houston Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei for sale in Houston, or seeking a Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei breeders who help with Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
