SQUISHY, ADORABLE AND PERFECT IN EVERY WHICH WAY!

Hi there! My name is Winnie and I’m just thrilled that you are taking the time to read all about me. My story is a little sad but it is destined to have a happy ending. I came to CEBR because my family no longer wanted me. Honestly, I really don’t understand why. I know that I can be a little bit of an attention hog but I’m really a good girl. Well, anyhow, the only family I have ever known moved to a smaller home and said there was no room for me and the new puppy that they brought home. They dropped me off at CEBR’s vet office and my life was turned upside down. I had not been to the vet in years and did not understand what was happening to me. But I know now that CEBR is taking care of me. They made sure to get me up to date on all my shots, I was spayed and microchipped. So now I am ready for a new home. I am a big girl, about 65 lbs., 5 ½ years old and in great health.

Well, I’m just starting to show my true personality to my foster family. You see, I really was so afraid and timid when I first came to my foster home. But now, I’m starting to settle in. I am as sweet as pie and love to be around people. I want to have all the attention on me and don’t really like to share it with other dogs. I don’t get nasty really; I just kind of grumble at the other dogs and push them out of the way. Other than that, I’m as good as gold. I could probably stand to drop a few pounds but give a girl a break already!

My manners have been nearly perfect so far. I know some basic commands like, sit and stay. I will come when you call my name and will go outside and do my business when you tell me to. I have not had one potty accident in the house! I’m not food aggressive, which is good since I share my foster home with 4 other dogs and we all eat at the same time. I have a beautiful soft coat and a face full of deep wrinkles that need to be cleaned every day. I have the most unusual tail. My foster mom says it looks like a rattle. My tail wiggles, like crazy when my foster mom or dad comes home from work. What more can I say? I’m just about as perfect a gal as you can get.

Right now, I’m just getting used to all the other dogs in my foster home and learning to be patient and wait my turn for attention and treats. It’s tough I can tell you. I really love my treats and I really, really love attention! I think I would benefit from a training class just so that I can learn to be a bit more social.

Hmmm, what would my ideal new home be like...Well, I’d love a home where I am the apple of your eye and the center of attention. I am a sweet, loving and basically lazy gal who would love nothing more than a soft bed, a gentle hand and a good belly rub. I get along okay with other dogs. I don’t really pay them too much attention so if you are looking for playmate for your current pooch, I’m probably not your gal. I would rather play with you. Won’t you find a place for me in your home and in your heart? I’m really the “Winnie” combination of sweet, gentle and obedient. I can’t wait too meet you!

Sincerely,

Winnie

MORE ABOUT CHICAGO ENGLISH BULLDOG RESCUE

We are a pure-bred English Bulldog rescue located in the state of Illinois but serving the Midwest. To determine if you qualify to adopt one of our adorable bullies view our Adoption Criteria and Adoption Area Map.

We serve Chicago-proper and the surrounding suburbs, Illinois, Northwest Indiana, Southeastern Wisconsin including Milwaukee and now will accept intakes from Ohio and Missouri.

CEBR’s Directors and core volunteers are members of the Bulldog Club of America and the Bulldog Club of America Rescue Network. What that means for adopters, surrendering families and shelters is that our bullies get the highest level of care and commitment. They spend their time with us in foster homes where they get daily love and attention.

We are an Illinois licensed shelter and a 501c3 charitable organization. The care we provide our English bulldogs includes a high quality diet, the best veterinary care around (from a bulldog specialist!), and behavioral evaluations of the highest quality. Each of our rescued bullies typically costs CEBR more in care than the adoption fees we collect – on average $536 per bully. Your contributions to help care for our bullies would be so appreciated. CLICK HERE TO DONATE. All donations are tax deductible as provided by law.

Because we receive so many inquiries about our dogs, we’re sorry to say that we can’t follow up on all of them. If you are interested in one of our bullies, please complete an application by visiting www.ebullymatch.com and click on Apply To Adopt. We will not be able to respond to individual phone calls or emails.
