UPDATE 12/22/09: Two years after being adopted Cesar is being returned to rescue for nipping 1 yr. old child that is now in the household. He is now between 11-12 years old. He has a slipped disk (confirmed by radiographs) has a fairly severe heart murmor, and has seizures (does well on Pedigree brand wet food, no dry, and people food.. something used in some dog foods may be a trigger) He also has had a corneal skin graph done on his left eye for severe ulcer and has an "angry" ulcer on his right eye but the vets did not want to operate on it because they feared he would die in surgery because the first time he went under his heart stopped 3 times. He is still in northeastern NC and his asking adoption fee is $75.
Hi! I'm Cesar and I am just too cute for words. I'm a tiny little Shih Tzu mix who tips the scale at a whopping 9 lbs. The vet estimates that I am between 9 and 10 years old (only middle-aged for little guys like me!).
I'm looking for a forever family. Some really neat people rescued me from an animal shelter just in the nick of time (whew). My foster mom says that she has no idea why I ended up there because I’m a perfect little fellow. I love to snuggle without being too needy. I'm housetrained and I already know how to sit, stay, and shake hands. My foster mommy even lets me run off of my leash when I'm outside because I always come when I'm called.
I do have a soft spot for the ladies and tend to favor them over gentlemen. I'm also great with cats, dogs, and even horses. I love older children and teenagers and can play with them for hours.
I will need a home where I can get regular exercise due to a condition with my hip. It doesn't slow me down but the vet says I have to keep busy.
I have a lot of love to give. Mom says there is a perfect family out there for me somewhere. I hope she’s right. I am currently fostering in northeastern North Carolina and my asking adoption fee is $150.
