Melanie's Story...
My name is Melanie, I'm a gentle old soul looking for a place to retire. If you are searching for a nice laid back, relaxed girl to share your life with why not give me a chance. I do fine with other dogs,I just love people and I do well with older children. I have had some training too, I know basic commands and I do well with crate-training (hey, maybe I am even housebroken). I am a happy little and don't be worried by my age- I still have some spunk, I will bounce and bark with excitement to see you and I light up like a christmas tree for a biscuit! 12 years old- 50lbs. My adoption fee is $75.00 and includes adoption supplies.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Melanie, a Portland Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Portland, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
