History
Dolly has never been properly cared for in her entire life. When I saw her in the pound she ran to the outside kennel and trembled in fear. She shook so badly that she fell to the ground. I was able to get her out and walk into a calmer environment in order to evaluate this sweet girl. Dolly's body was covered in dead ticks. She looked as if she had given birth to atleast 4 litters and her body was covered in scabs and scars. Her elbows are completely callused from living her life as a backyard dog. Once Dolly realized I wasn't there to hurt her, she stopped shaking and was receptive to being touched and petted. Now that she is permanently in our care she will follow you around and is very quiet and gentle about it. Soon we will be learning more about her and if she is good with cats and dogs. We do know that she will need a family that will love her for the rest of her years and will make her part of their family and not leave her outside. She deserves so much more in life!
