My name is Possum and I was born in September 2006. Along with my sister Calliope (also AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION) and sister Zoe (already adopted), we were abandoned as kittens in a South Plainfield backyard. There was no sign of our mother, just the three of us and a bag of food left ripped open. Scared and alone, we all cried and cried. Fortunately, someone heard us and came to our rescue. The kind family took us in temporarily, but could not keep us all, so they called W&W who eagerly agreed to help. Since then, things have really looked up. My sister Zoe was lucky enough to be adopted by the nice family who found us. That left just me and Calliope. Since the beginning, we really relied on each other and now, we are as inseparable as can be. My foster Mom says that we are just like peas and carrots, meant to go together. With my foster Mom's agreement, we think that the ideal candidate for adoption is a family or single willing to take home both myself and Calliope - together for many more years of companionship and contentment.

About Whiskers and Wags-4-Adoption

About Our Rescue Group...

Whiskers and Wags-4-Adoption is a 501(c)(3), all volunteer, non-profit organization. We are a small group with 3 foster homes. We pull animals from the Jersey City Shelter, Perth Amboy Shelter, Associated Humane. We also accept turn-ins and strays. We are members of the New Hope Program in New York. All our animals are tested, vet checked and spayed/neutered if age permits. We participate in the NJ State Spay/Neuter Program. Animals taken in by Whiskers and Wags stay with us until adopted. Some will remain with us. The cats are not caged in the foster homes. In one foster home, the cats live with dogs.
