My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tigger has been a wonderful addition to our home, and it sure will be hard to give him up! He's a Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier mix and is about five years old. He's extremely affectionate with everyone, adores kids, and really enjoys his belly rubs and being "fussed over." Even though he's part Jack Russell Terrier, he's not a "bouncing-off-the walls" kinda guy. He's a fairly calm boy, with spurts of playfulness. When introduced to our dogs, he was a little "snarky" with them for about a week, which I believe was due to fear, but it's apparent from the attached pictures that he's adjusted quite nicely; however, if adopted into a multi-dog household, the other dog(s) should be submissive, as ours are non-confrontational, so there's been no problem. A lot of dogs approaching him at one time seem to overwhelm him. Tigger rides like a dream in the car, loves his walks at the park, and pulls just a little on lead. He'd be great for an apartment or townhouse dweller, as he's quiet, and when he does bark, he has a "Jack Russell yap" rather than a "Beagle trumpet." He's curious to know what's on the other side of our fence and occasionally starts to dig under to find out (!), so now he's on a long run when we're not out with him. When on his run, he's content to sit, watch the other dogs play, and sleep. When off his run (supervised!), he explores the yard, sniffs, and plays with the other dogs. He's housebroken and crate-trained. He does well with Nylabones, tennis balls, and rawhides and doesn't appear to be food- or treat-possessive. Upon meeting my parents' cat, he seemed a little "too interested" in her when she started running around, but never lunged at her when she was still and they were nose to nose. Tigger's a real sweetie.
