My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ste*******IMPORTANT****** IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ONE OF OUR DOGS PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE AND FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. AFTER WE HAVE AN APPLICATION ON FILE WE WILL COMMUNICATE SPECIFICS ABOUT THAT PARTICULAR DOG. WE ARE A SMALL RESCUE, OVERWHELMED BY THE NUMBER OF DOGS WE HAVE IN OUR FOSTER PROGRAM AND ARE UNABLE TO ANSWER OR CALL UNTIL WE HAVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION.
Steeley is a 2 1/2 year old, possible male. Steeley, until recently was believed to be an hemaphrodite. He was saved from euthanasia by is former owners, only to be left in their back yard for the last year of his life because "they just weren't dog people." A concerned citizen rescued Steeley, thin and ill with a urinary tract infection from their backyard this past fall.
Steeley has significant anatomic abnormalities that make the risk of recurrent urinary tract infections very high.
He has recenty been evaluated at the UGA vet school. The Vet cast doubt as to whether Steeley is in fact an hemaphrodite. He may be suffering from another type of urinary tract abnormality and not an hemaphrodite at all. He is a candidate for reconstructive surgery that will relocate the urethral opening to prevent further infection. The cost of this surgery could exceed $1,800.00. To give Steeley the happy healthy life he so deserves we need to raise the money necessary to undergo the surgery. Please consider donating a few dollars to help us pay for this very expensive surgery. Steeley will be on medical hold until he has and recovers from his surgery.
On the personality front, you couldn't ask for a better adjusted bulldog. Everyone's his friend!
Update 6/17/2010: Steeley is a boy!!!!!! He is scheduled to undergo reconstruction surgery on July 8th. Steeley's surgery is going to be very expensive. Please consider donating to this cause...we can't do it without your support.

Update: Steeley underwent his surgery on July 8, 2010. He had extensive reconstruction surgery. Steeley pulled through with flying colors. After several weeks of recovery, he will be ready for adoption.
