Andy III's Story...
Andy came into rescue after living in a breeding kennel all of his life. His foster parents are teaching him house training, leash training and general trust of humans. He is extremely cautious of all movements toward him but he is slowly opening up. He is exploring on his own terms. Each day of his new life is bringing new sights, sounds and experiences. Watch Andy as he has become more comfortable with some of the finer things in a dog's life.

We require a secure fenced yard, we do not accept "invisible" or electric fences. We will check your fence. All our dogs are spay/neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm tested and on prevention and on Flea & Tick prevention. Dentals are completed as needed. You may meet our dogs at Petco on W. 75th Street, just East of Metcalf in Overland Park, KS on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 10 to 2 and the 1st Sunday of the month from 11 to 3 or by Appointment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Andy III, a Mission Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Mission, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Mission.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mission already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mission breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mission paves the way for another one to be saved.
