Dugger's Story...
This is Dugger..... 6 weeks old.... my owners was going to throw me out on the front porch and some nice ladys took us in, then the volunteers from Second Chance Animal Rescue called and called until they got ahold of the lady, they came and picked me and my 2 brothers up and brought us back to this really warm shelter and gave us a bath and fed us some warm puppy food, got us all toasty warm in a blanket and we fell right asleep.... we even got toys to play with!!! If I can say anything... First I want to thank the nice ladys that saved us from being thrown outside in the cold and I want to really thank the volunteers that drove all the way to pick me up and place me in the shelter so the nice people at Second Chance Animal Rescue can find me a forever home..... and that's all I really want for my brothers and I.. So Thanks!!! If interested please email

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dugger, a Vandalia Rat Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Vandalia, or seeking a Rat Terrier puppy from a breeder in Vandalia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vandalia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vandalia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vandalia paves the way for another one to be saved.
