Huey's Story...
Hi, folks. My name is Huey. Although I’m very happy to be at Friends of Homeless Animals, my safety came at the expense of my dearest friend. See, my brother and I were at the county pound. I begged and pleaded with the workers there. I tried everything I knew to save my brother, but they killed him anyway. As I watched him walk away, never to return again, I prayed that I would not share his fate. A volunteer answered my prayers, and brought me to FOHA. I have met lots of new friends here, and though they will never replace my beloved pal, they have certainly showed me the wonderful possibilities life holds. I’m a friend to all and a lover of life. I bring a smile to the face of all those I meet. I love to play with other dogs and I’m great with kids. While in a foster home I became enthralled with a magical contraption humans call an automatic feeder. I ate, and then more food automatically came out. It was really quite fascinating! I couldn’t figure out where the food was coming from. Maybe my new family will have one of those too, and they’ll tell me the secret. One thing’s for sure--it’s no secret that I’m a great boy. I’m ready to join your family and fill your home with love and companionship. (PLEASE NOTE: I can be adopted only in the DC Metropolitan area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Huey, a Aldie Foxhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Foxhound for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Foxhound dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Foxhound breeders who help with Foxhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
