Laurie's Story...
"Laurie" was rescued off of the streets in Compton. A kind-hearted school teacher at Foster Elementary saw her almost get killed by a passing car. She took her home, gave her a bath, watched hundreds of fleas die off in the tub, as she got this little cutie nice and clean, probably for the first time in her life. She is a total sweetheart with dogs, cats and children. She loves to be held, is house-trained, likes to go for rides in the car, walks well on a leash, has been spayed and vaccinated and is ready for her forever home. Please get in touch with us today if you would like to bring Laurie home! 818-407-4145 / www.downtowndogrescue.org Our application is the first step, we will contact everyone that applies.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Laurie, a Los Angeles Papillon/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Papillon/Chihuahua for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Papillon/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Papillon/Chihuahua breeders who help with Papillon/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
