Barry's Story...
This big boy is Barry and he just has one of those faces that you want to SQUEEZE!!!! What a good boy he is and he has such great manners! He sits on command and LOVES to have treats!! Barry is thought to be a mastiff/lab mix. I think I may see some boxer in him. He is just a lover boy that will melt your heart the minute you meet him. Barry is about 2 years old and came to the shelter as a stray. He is great with other dogs and seems ok with cats. This boy needs YOU!! He doesn’t belong in this shelter but does deserve to be the CENTER of attention at his new home!! Barry is neutered and up to date on all of his shots thanks to the Shelby County No Kill Mission. He will also be heartworm tested and microchipped upon adoption. Lets find this boy a WAY OUT!!

Please call the shelter ASAP at 502-633-0009!!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barry, a Shelbyville Mastiff/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mastiff/Labrador Retriever for sale in Shelbyville, or seeking a Mastiff/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Shelbyville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shelbyville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shelbyville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mastiff/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Mastiff/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shelbyville paves the way for another one to be saved.
