Sloane's Story...
My name is Sloane. I was found running the roads here in Virginia when a nice woman stopped and gave me a ride. I didn’t have any ID on me, and unfortunately we were unable to find my family. People aren’t supposed to drive without their ID, so I guess the lesson learned for dogs is, don’t go outside with out your ID. Unlike people though, this is mostly out of our control. I looked for my family for several months, but when no one came, FOHA found a place for me. Now I have a second chance to find a new home. I’m a fun and active girl who loves to play. I love to play tug and any new game you’d like to teach me. I’m smart and eager to please, and I already know many basic commands. I’m very affectionate, too, and I love to get kisses and belly rubs. I probably can’t give belly rubs back to my new family, but I will give lots of love, kisses, and fun. (PLEASE NOTE: I can be adopted to a home only in the DC Metropolitan area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sloane, a Aldie Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
