My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BERNIE IS A BUNDLE OF LOVE!

Bernie is a little lover who likes to either be held, cuddled or just be near you! He came from a shelter where he was being over-looked for adoption so the staff contacted poodle rescue to take him. We're not sure how much poodle he really has in him, but that doesn't matter. He is sweet little guy that we love! He has a little cocker tail that never stops wagging.

Bernie is sight-impaired - he can see some shadows, but not much. But, don't tell Bernie that he can't see! He doesn't know and it doesn't stop him. He is not at all timid about finding out where he is or how to get where he wants to go! Bernie has cataracts in both of his eyes that may respond to surgical treatment.

Bernie is about 12 lb and has a creamy coat, very much like a cocker spaniel. He is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped and just had his teeth cleaned and polished. He has a slight heart murmur. He was estimated at 9 years of age at the shelter, but we think he might be younger - our vet just looked at him and agrees that he is younger than 9.

Bernie is crate trained, likes to go for car rides and gets along with other dogs and cats. He might do best, in fact, in a family with another dog that he can tag around with who will show him the lay of the land. We think it would be best if he goes to a home with no children or with older children only (over 12). Bernie's photos don't do him justice - he is soooooo cute in person!
