Franklin von Frankfurt's Story...
Franklin von Frankfurt is a stunning 3 year old classic German Shepherd. He is a kind dog, gentle and well behaved. Some dogs are just more sensitive to their situation and when Franklin found himself in one of the worst shelters in Los Angeles, he was terrified. He was sent to what they call the Annex, away from the public, no one would have even seen him. Fortunately, two of our volunteers happened to be there and saw Franklin. We know he came from a home that cared for him, his coat is perfect, he obviously had good food. Once Franklin was out of the city shelter, he knew things were looking up. He walks well on the leash and doesn’t pull. He is good passing other dogs and doesn’t bark at them. Franklin for all his sweetness has a big deep bark so he certainly sounds protective. He is a great choice for someone who likes an impressive looking dog, but with an easier temperament.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Franklin von Frankfurt, a Los Angeles German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
