Hi, my name is Muffy, I am a 5 yr old cocker spaniel girl with a beautiful chocolate merle coloring. One day not long ago, I was taken out of a puppymill by this wonderful Rescue!!
I came into this whole new world, and I have been very scared, fearful, and skiddish!! My foster mom is trying to work with me to give me some confidence, but it has been a slow process. I just may need a lot more time, so if you are interested in adopting me, here are some things you need to know and understand. I am not your typical cuddly cocker girl, I was not raised from a puppy around humans, so I am still learning to trust, and I will shy away from you alot. If you are slow moving, and gentle approaching me, I will allow you to pet me, but I just kind of freeze up in fear until I get to know you. I am starting to like human attention, but I can be a flight risk, meaning I need to be in a secure fenced in yard for my safety. YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH MILL DOGS TO BE APPROVED TO ADOPT ME. YOU MUST HAVE ANOTHER DOG ALREADY IN THE HOME TO HELP ME TO COME AROUND. I NEED A DOG TO FOLLOW AND HELP ME GAIN TRUST WITH HUMANS. THESE ARE REQUIREMENTS TO ADOPT ME.
I have made progress in my foster home, I love being with my two foster fur-brothers and fur-sisters, they have helped me cope, and I depend on them to stick close by me. I have learned potty training, although this is still a work in progress. I would do best with someone home during the day, or at least part of the day. I really need an owner that is understanding and willing to give me the time I need to adjust, and get over my fears. This could take years, it is NOT going to happen in a matter of weeks or months, so PLEASE DO NOT APPLY unless you are realistic about how much I need from you, and how long it could take.
Well, I hope I have NOT turned you off on possibly adopting me, but if NOT, and you are willing/ able to stick by me for the long road ahead, and can give me another dog and a fenced yard, then you can apply, I hope to find that right person, I will be waiting.
Muffy is spayed and up to date on vaccines
