DeeDee's Story...
From DeeDee's AAT foster mom:
"DeeDee likes to sleep under the desk - she's a definitely a desk dog. Every time I sit down here, she's quietly sneaking under my legs and past the chair, so she can be close."

DeeDee, born 11/14/2009, is an extremely loyal house dog. She prefers the routine of family, she's not really interested in meeting new dogs or new people. She does well on leash, is house trained and always interested in car rides, especially to the lake. DeeDee was born into rescue, but missed out on proper socialization during her first year. Her preferred method we teach to meet new people - we say to "ignore her until she comes to you". Then she feels safe. DeeDee needs a forever family who can understand that behavior, and will continue to give her positive introductions. She plays best with boy dogs, sometimes there can be challenges with girl dogs. Cats are very iffy - a bit too much like the squirrels who taunt her foster pack. DeeDee would do best with a single human, or a quiet family. Small kids, no, Teenagers? Possibly, with a proper introduction.
If a quiet, loyal desk dog is your kind of family dog, please fill out an application for DeeDee today at http://www.animalalliesoftexas.org/adoption-application/ . .

About Animal Allies of Texas

About Our Rescue Group...

Animal Allies of Texas is a 501(c)(3) animal advocacy/rescue organization, dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community. Our goal is to build a no-kill shelter on enough land to house not only "adoptable" animals, but "treatable" ones as well - those who need medical care or behavior modification to become adoptable. While working toward this goal, we will also engage in community service and humane education projects to help bring about "humanity championed by thought."

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoption events at one or more locations every week end. Please check the calendar on our web site www.animalalliesoftexas.org for specific locations and times.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters must submit an application, either online via our web site www.animalalliesoftexas.org or a paper application at an adoption event. General requirements for adoption: You must live in the DFW/Ft. Worth/North Texas area - we do not adopt outside this area. Dogs must be primarily inside, and cats must be totally inside. Cats must not be declawed. All pets must be spayed/neutered if this has not been done prior to adoption. Adopter must agree to a home visit prior to adoption. Adopter MUST agree to return pet to AAT if he/she can no longer keep the pet or if AAT deems it to be in the best interest of the pet. An adoption agreement detailing these and other requirements must be signed to finalize adoption. Current fees are: dogs-$175, cats-$110. This covers all vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchipping.
