Benny's Story...
Just a baby, that's what I am and I already have such a sad story to tell. Left by my mother, wandering the streets all alone….thank goodness I was rescued…truth is I am feeling very fortunate, but also pretty scared still. I am really very shy and will need a lot of patience in the beginning. But I am ready to find a family of my own, where I will continue to grow and learn all of the life's wonderful lessons. A family where all members understand how to be calm and gentle with a scared baby like me. Are you looking to raise a puppy? Well come in and meet me, you can take me home and read me bedtime stories, you know, the kind with happy endings. 4 months old-22lbs. My adoption fee is $240 and includes; microchip, reduced cost neuter and $25 rebate, reduced cost Training Class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Benny, a Portland Australian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Portland, or seeking a Australian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
