My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 05/19/2010: Now what are you waiting for, Beauty is only skin deep, and foster mom said I have a great disposition. Oh yeah, I now have hair all over my body, very fine, kind of like baby hair, but hair just the same, except my ears. The Dogtor wasn't sure I was actually a yorkie.... she thought maybe part Chinese Crested? Well, all the tests are back, and I came back as all Yorkie! I really am - they did the genetic testing to prove it. Foster Mom said she would even show you the test results if you'll just take me home. After all the tests were done, it has been decided they just couldn't find anything wrong with me, Probably just spent too much time in the streets, not getting any good lovin or good food. 8-) Foster Mom said she can actually see the look of love in my eyes now. So you think hard about me now, I am turning into such a good dude. I really love being part of a family and think I could love being part of yours. Talk to you all later, lots of xxxx from Harvey.

UPDATED BIO 04/03/2010: Harvey says, "Hi everyone! The funny looking little guy here! Had my dental this week and lost the last of the toofers in my head. Hasn't slowed me down though! :) I have learned to just swallow things whole; so make sure my food is in small bite size pieces before you feed me. I can even chow down on my Yorkie food with no problem, but I also get some canned food with it. I don't need any special diet or anything. I am up to 8.1 lbs to prove it. FM said to tell you we're still working on that skin issue and she thinks my hair is getting thicker around my head and front half, She said she's going to start using butch wax and spike the blonde streak in my head.... not sure what she means by that. FM said I had to tell you how much of a conversation starter I am wherever I go. Everyone wants to touch me and feel me and then I just give them those smiley eyes and they are in love. I'm getting to be quite the bossy one around the household here. I have even put Toby in his place. They call me the nuzzler, because with this nose of mine, I can get myself into the middle of whoever is having a hug fest. Oh yeah and now I like those walks. Didn't quite know what they were at first. Now I just lag behind a little bit, but not to be left behind. I keep on trucking to try to catch up. Keep me in your prayers so we find out what the skin thing is, and really think about taking me home. I know I would make an EXCELLENT addition to anyone's home. And I love to play and rough house, love to meet everyone out walking in the neighborhood, am the first one to go and say hello, whether they want to talk to me or not.

UPDATED BIO 03/21/2010: Harvey here! I'm 10 years old and 6.6 lbs. I'm back just to remind you what a good little boy I really am. I'm taking my medicated baths 2 x's a week without a whimper. I may not look like it, but I really am a brave little man. Things are going very well here at my foster home. I have foster fur-brothers and sisters to play with, and I do like to play. I don't mind if you have to go to work or leave to go to the store, but don't try to fake me out and hang out in the garage or out in the back yard without me. I'll know you're there and make some really weird sounds til you come back to get me. FM thinks I may have been left behind somewhere and that's why I get concerned if you're not in my sight. And that's the only thing that FM can find to say about me that's not SUPER-DUPER! (and she says she's digging here, because I am an AWESOME guy!). I'm still waiting for the test results on my naked patch to come back. It could be a couple more weeks before we know everything about me. I'll let you know as soon as I know. My bloodwork was great though! I have an appointment for my dental cleaning soon. xxx000 til later, Harvey

UPDATED BIO 03/17/2010: Harvey is 10 years old and weighs 6.6 lbs. He was a little boy UYR took a chance on. We know that it takes a special person to love a senior. Well, BOY WERE WE ALL SURPRISED! Inside this older body is the heart and soul of a youngster! Foster mom is in love with this little guy and can't imagine a world without Harvey! Just look into his eyes. It's as if he's saying, "Love me. I love you. Love me. I love you. Love me. I love you."

First and foremost, Foster Mom has a few things to say about this little guy... "He has a HEART OF GOLD!!!! He is completely housebroken and we call him Mr. Congeniality. He is the first to meet and greet everyone - either human or canine - with a wag of a tail and a smile in his eyes. He is a truly sweet, happy little guy, and I am proud to be his Foster Momma."

So that said, here's what Harvey has to say for himself.... "Hi to everyone reading about me. I know I'm not the prettiest thing in the world, but I make up for it in kindness. I have no problems with other animals in the house, as long as they are of the canine nature.... Don't know how I will react to cats, birds, etc. FM said I am the first one to 'take care of business" whatever that means, when she lets us out. I love to play and nuzzle and nuzzle and nuzzle. I'm not real good in the walking department. My skinny little legs just have a hard time taking a quick walk, but if you walk real slow, I'll try to keep up.

Even though some people say I don't look real cute right now, I am quite the conversation starter and people do make a fuss over me wherever I go.

I do have a dental scheduled in April, don't have many teeth now and may lose even more (maybe all of them), but I don't have any problems eating. For example, I had my regular dinner last nite, and then I also had some cooked broccoli and a baked potato, minus the skin, and even had a tomato and found it all to be very yummy and ate it all. Nothing wrong with this appetite!

Well, love and kisses to all, and I'll let you know how I progress..........."

INITIAL BIO 03/11/2010: Hi there! My name is Harvey! I'm really hoping that you [reading this bio] have special super powers..... See, if you had special super powers, you could see into the future and see me for what I'm GOING to look like. :) You'll see. I am going to be quite the handsome devil! OK, here's my story:

I am 10 years old and weigh 6.6 lbs. I was found as a stray wandering the streets all by my lonesome. I was brought to the shelter and kept getting passed over for the younger (and hairier) pups. That was until my FM saw me. She came up to my cage and told me she promised to take me home and find me a FURever family that would love me even though I'm a senior. She promised! ... and Foster Mommies don't lie.

So far I've shown FM that I'm sweet and loving. I LOVE to be held and kissed.... (she did that AFTER I got my bath). Foster mommy says the water was dark brown from how dirty I was. Ewwwwwww. She picked me up today from the shelter and brought me straight to the rescue vet. I had blood drawn, urine sent, a skin biopsy to try and figure out why I'm bald in places, and a checkup.

The Dogtor says I have a healthy heart. My toofers are mostly gone, and the ones left are rotten. I'll have them removed in a couple of weeks and will feel so much better. I can see just fine, but I have a little cloudiness (no biggie). The labwork that was sent will tell everyone what I already know (I'm otherwise healthy!). The Dogtor says my hair loss could be hormone related (in which case my neuter would solve it) or it could be my thyroid (We're waiting on those results). Either way she thinks it's fixable and I'll be a little furball again. :)

So, what are you waiting for? I'm super sweet and very unique looking. Why not rescue an older pup like me?! I am not going anywhere anytime soon and would really like it if someone out there would love me FURever. xoxo Harvey
