Thelma's Story...
Thelma & Louise were born near the 1st of the Year. A fellow rescue partner noticed an ad for five-week-old greyhound puppies for sale at $25 each! Thank goodness we are able to make sure these two are spayed to prevent future backyard puppies. It is unknown how many were in the litter or if purebred - the mother is 100% greyhound. Thelma & Louise have been hand raised for the last month or so at the Auburn Foster Home. Both are now healthy and ready to go home! Though slightly larger, Louise is the more submissive of the two. Adult weight is estimated to be 40-50lbs. Both are curious, affectionate, have good potty-on-the-paper habits, do not chew up their toys/bedding (but might take a chunk out of a magazine/book) and are relatively quiet. Being so young, temperaments will be greytly affected by their forever home environment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thelma, a Santa Rosa Greyhound puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Santa Rosa, or seeking a Greyhound puppy from a breeder in Santa Rosa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Rosa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Rosa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Rosa paves the way for another one to be saved.
