My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

At 7 weeks old this sweet boy was rescued from a home with his two brothers because the lady was not caring for them. He is now 1 year old and has been living in an outside kennel with his brothers for the past 10 months. Up until recently he had never known the comfort of a soft bed and the security of being inside. Confetti was lucky to have a fellow rescuer want to give a shot at fostering him. Because he was very scared and had never been exposed to anything outside his kennel, he had a hard time adjusting to the hectic home. He was coming around, but the toddler was just too fast and noisy and really made Confetti nervous.

After we realized Confetti was not the best fit in this foster home, he came to my home on February 9th. This dog has really surprised me. He still has to develop security with his surroundings, but he has been adjusting and conquering so many of his fears. He has explored the entire house and just recently won over his fear of the stairs. He has met the other eight dogs in the house and once he realized they weren’t going to hurt him, he accepted them and almost immediately started to play. We’ve learned that he sleeps nicely in a crate with no accidents and he would probably do well in a bedroom also. He really likes to see where you are and whines when he can’t be with you. He has not soiled in the house at all when he’s out either.

This dog has won my heart and I think he’s the best little guy. He’s quite small and easy to carry if needed. He still needs a lot of socialization and will need that more so with things outside of the home. He is adjusting to inside life very quickly. He does cower and roll on his back if you come at him too quickly, but jumps up with encouragement. I never imagined he would adjust to our home so quickly with all the fears he had. This boy is so very special and would do best in a home with children about 13 years or older. A calmer environment with cats and friendly dogs, and a family that has patience and a lot of love. You will not be disappointed in this boy!!!
