My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pepper is an active, bouncy brown tabby girl, now about 10 weeks old. There is nothing she loves more than to play, play, play - until she wears out, then it's time for snuggles. She loves to grab the feather toy and zooms around the room after the "little red bug" that is the laser pointer.
Pepper was born to a feral momma cat who took up residence under a family's front steps. A kind neighbor and the family fed the mother and contacted CARA for help in rescuing the little family. Sadly the momma cat and two of the kittens disappeared before they could be rescued, but little Pepper was left behind. She was not quite 8 weeks old and rather upset at this turn of events. But she turned out to be the lucky one, because she was rescued.

When she first came to her foster mom's home she was all hiss and spit, like any good wild kitty. But she was very quickly won over with food, love, and patience. Now she probably doesn't remember her former life. Besides, it's too much fun playing and snuggling with her foster mom.

Although we generally like to adopt kittens in pairs, Pepper is doing very well as a single kitten. She does enjoy playmates though, both feline and human, so her future home should have plenty of entertainment for her so she doesn't get into trouble on her own. She likes to be held only on her terms, so older children and adults would be best. She likes other cats and would enjoy a feline friend.
