Smokey's Story...
Smokey is a gorgeous, agile, athletic, happy, and very friendly, 65-pound, one-year-old brindle and white Mastiff/or small Irish Wolfhound-mix looking for a loving home. Smokey was found chained behind a home in Elgin. The people were convinced to give him up so that he can find a better home where he can live indoors and be adored by his family. Smokey loves people, and he loves to go on walks. Smokey is very healthy, neutered, heartworm-tested, de-wormed, and up-to-date on rabies, bordatella, and distemper vaccines. To meet and possibly adopt Smokey, please contact JJ at jojoann1c3@sbcglobal.net or 708-652-3475. His adoption fee of $200 benefits rescued pets. He is being kenneled in West Chicago, Illinois.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smokey, a Chicago Mastiff/Irish Wolfhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mastiff/Irish Wolfhound for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Mastiff/Irish Wolfhound dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mastiff/Irish Wolfhound breeders who help with Mastiff/Irish Wolfhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
