My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bella and Bijou are two tightly bonded dilute tortoiseshell sisters born in the summer of 2007. They are so close that they have never spent a single day apart, and they are looking for a home together.

While they love each other, both sisters love people immensely and are big snugglers! They are definitely sisters and have several traits and habits in common: running to greet their people each day when they walk in the door (what a nice sight after a long day at work), loving to sleep on the bed and cuddle through the night, playing with the laser light and Da Bird, and a chirpy way of chatting that is hilariously cute.

Differences? There are a few.

Bella is extraordinarily affectionate and tends to be a houseguest’s best friend once she’s gotten used to the new person. She’s happy to lounge all day or night in a comfortable lap, and is not shy about demanding her fair share of love and attention. She has a sweet gaze and is happy to bestow it happily on the people she loves, purring like a motor all the while.

Bijou loves running water. She peeks her head around the shower curtain whenever anyone takes a shower, and has trained her foster mom to leave the faucet dripping for a few minutes of playtime each morning. She likes computer time and is highly amused by typing fingers, happy to interrupt for petting during keyboarding breaks.

Bella and Bijou are both lovable and loving, but can be shy at first. They are slightly timid and slow to get used to new people, but once they’ve come out of their shell they are friendly and affectionate girls. While they are very close to each other, they’re not overly fond of their fellow foster cats, and would be most happy in their very own home with just the two of them and their people.

Bella and Bijou, like all ARCF cats for adoption, have been spayed, microchipped, are up to date on vaccines, and have tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

If you are interested in meeting Bella and Bijou, please fill out the "I'm interested" form at our website, and our adoption coordinator will respond promptly. Please note that we place cats in the following counties only: Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas and Clark.

Animal Rescue & Care Fund, Inc. is a small rescue organization. We rescue homeless animals only, and do not accept owner-surrendered pets.
