RAMBUNCTIOUS BOY THAT WILL MELT YOUR HEART.

Hi everybody! My name is Lucky and I am so happy to meet you. I am a 2 year old English bulldog boy and I am just about as “Lucky” as you can get. I came to CEBR from a home in Indiana where I was very much loved and well taken care of. However, my family felt that I was just a little too rambunctious for the grandkids and that I would probably be happier if I had another dog to play with. So, with much sadness, they decided to relinquish me to CEBR. I am up to date on all of my vaccinations, neutered and a very healthy 57lb. boy. I will come to you with a microchip!

I love to play and I guess I do get a bit out-of-hand once in a while. I have a tendency to jump on people when I get excited and I do get a little “mouthy”. I guess that is what my family meant by “rambunctious”. A little work on my manners is probably in order and I would really benefit from a basic obedience class. As far as health issues go…I have some really deep folds on my face that get rather dirty and I’m pretty certain that before coming to CEBR nobody had ever cleaned my tail. Those areas need a little work but other than that, I’m a perfectly healthy boy!

The good thing is that I really do listen and I want to make you happy! I know the commands of sit and down and I am fully housebroken. I love following my foster mom and dad around the house. If you give me a love pat and a little scratch, I’d swear I was in heaven! I have to be honest with you…I absolutely love my new bully playmate. I think I could play with her all day long. Having a doggy playmate is just about as good as it gets! I hope there will be one in my new forever home. I’m a perfect gentleman when it comes to feeding time. I never jump or beg for my food and I’m happy to wait my turn patiently. At bedtime, I will stay in my crate but would really prefer to sleep on the floor next to your bed. I just love being with my peeps!

My foster home has me on a pretty good schedule so that I am not alone for more than 5-6 hours. They are working on my basic manners so that I don’t jump up on people and don’t play bite so much. They are also giving my facial folds and my tail a good cleaning at least once a day.

My new forever home must be committed to cleaning my facial folds and my tail every day so that I don’t get any infections. I would love my new forever home to have another dog for me to play with along with a big back yard for running or an active family that can take me on some really good leash walks! A home with older kids would be great too. I really can’t say what a cat is – although I heard a rumor that one lives next door to my foster family. I really am a “happy-go-Lucky” kind of pooch and a super sweet boy. Any way you look at it, my forever home is going to be very “Lucky” to make me a part of their family.

See you soon!

Love,

Lucky

MORE ABOUT CHICAGO ENGLISH BULLDOG RESCUE

We are a pure-bred English Bulldog rescue located in the state of Illinois but serving the Midwest. To determine if you qualify to adopt one of our adorable bullies view our Adoption Criteria and Adoption Area Map.

We serve Chicago-proper and the surrounding suburbs, Illinois, Northwest Indiana, Southeastern Wisconsin including Milwaukee and now will accept intakes from Ohio and Missouri.

CEBR’s Directors and core volunteers are members of the Bulldog Club of America and the Bulldog Club of America Rescue Network. What that means for adopters, surrendering families and shelters is that our bullies get the highest level of care and commitment. They spend their time with us in foster homes where they get daily love and attention.

We are an Illinois licensed shelter and a 501c3 charitable organization. The care we provide our English bulldogs includes a high quality diet, the best veterinary care around (from a bulldog specialist!), and behavioral evaluations of the highest quality. Each of our rescued bullies typically costs CEBR more in care than the adoption fees we collect – on average $536 per bully. Your contributions to help care for our bullies would be so appreciated. Because we receive so many inquiries about our dogs, we’re sorry to say that we can’t follow up on all of them. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucky, a Park Ridge English Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a English Bulldog for sale in Park Ridge, or seeking a English Bulldog dog from a breeder in Park Ridge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Park Ridge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Park Ridge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even English Bulldog breeders who help with English Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Park Ridge paves the way for another one to be saved.
