Hello World!
My name is Spirit and I'm a sweet little girl of about two. Mom says that my Aunties at Bichon FurKids named me well, as I have a very sweet and loving spirit about me. And while I’m gentle, pretty and love other dogs I’m also not a push-over. In fact Mom says I am teaching my big (!) doggy foster sister that even a gentle little girl can hold her ground!
Mom also says that my name should stand for "Sweet-Pretty-Independent-Really Indomitable-Trooper". I'm not sure what "indomitable" means, but she says you’ll understand that when you learn a bit more about me. So please read on!
Dad says I’m completely housebroken (see what a good girl I am!) that I love to ride in the car and to play. I also love being outside. And Mom and Dad both agree that I learn quickly. They said I know how to get around, mastered the stairs very quickly and everything else too. Why Mom says I am so smart she sometimes thinks I'm doing calculus in my head. (I think Mom is pretty smart -- and funny too!)
I'm a playful little girl who loves to be outside. One of my favorite things to do is to roll in the grass… upside down that is! I REALLY like it when it's warm from the sun. That feels soooooo gooooood! When I’m not enjoying the yard, my doggy foster brothers and sisters or any other dogs that I meet, I am happy to cuddle. And my doggy bed and my blankie are just perfect for cuddling.
Sometimes when I want a little extra attention I will come over and put my little front paw on your lap -- so you know that I'm ready for some loving and snuggling. Mom and Dad say I do that so gently and lovingly that they can’t resist. (The good thing is that they don’t even try to!)
I also like to hang out where the "action" is, whether it’s watching TV or reading a book. You see while I enjoy action I also enjoy quiet time. The important part is to be with my people. And I never go to bed if anybody else is up. Sometimes I get soooo sleepy, but I just wait, soaking up every minute of love from my family.
I also LOVE (!) to go on walks with Mom and Dad. And the longer I go, the faster I go. I get to going at a really fast clip - but I also enjoy all the sights, smells and sounds around me. Now Mom says to tell you something that may surprise you. I do all of this with only three legs. You see when my Aunties found me I only had three legs. But they took one look at my eyes, I looked straight into their hearts – and that was it. They named me Spirit and told me I was going to have the bestest family in the world some day.
