My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Erica came from a shelter in Illinios. Like many small dogs, especially the ones who have been out wandering on their own, she was very scared and nippy at the shelter. That left her only two options 0 euthanasia or rescue. RCCR was happy to step up to the plate and secure a great future for her. Erica is absolutely a one of a kinda chihuahua. I don't think I have ever met such a multi-faceted and clever girl. This girl needs to go through what we call the 'Erica transformation'. She starts out cowering in fear and in a couple weeks she is jumping for joy when you come home and showering you with kisses. At first, it took 4 days for us to even be able to touch her. We do not know what happened to this adorable girl in the past, but something really horrible has caused her to be immediately terrified of new people. For the first week with Erica, she needs to be in a small space where she can learn the smells and people of the place she is living. After 5 days, she had fallen madly in love with her foster dad and gallops and hops when he is in the room. She loves chihuahuas, especially as snuggling buddies, and does fine with other dogs as long as they aren't jumping all over her....shes a small girl for heaven's sake so of course that makes sense. We compare her to Miss Piggy....bossy, beautiful, funny, and loving to those she cares about (oh and she snorts when she gets excited..so cute). She definitely is drawn to males but will warm up to anyone given the time. This little gem is potty pad trained and will also go outside also. If you have the patience and love for this amazing girl you will be richly rewarded with all the love she will have for you. We think that Erica is about 3 years old and weighs 6ish pounds.

Erica is spayed, up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, on heartworm preventive, has had a dental and is microchipped. Don't forget that she is reliably house trained. Even with all of that done, her adoption fee is only $200. I love a great deal, don't you? MORE PIX COMING!
