Here's what the humans have to say about me:
http://www.valleydogs.org/speedy.html -- Help….my previous owner abandoned me on the Scottsdale greenbelt…I ran and ran, and I even did my trademark hops, skips, and leaps, in hopes of finding my home…which is how I earned my name, Speedy. Your day will forever be brighter with my energetic love playing fetch or taking a jog together. My shots of energy are followed by hours of pure cuddle time…your worries will be put aside when we chill out in the park and I sprawl out on the grass. I love to help on recycling day by shredding my favorite chew toy….cardboard boxes. I am not a big chewer, though, as long as I have regular walks and stimulus. I’m less than a year old, around 40 lbs, and I’m a mix of it all…Pit bull, Rot, Basset Hound, and maybe some Shepherd. The little bit of hound in me explains why I rarely bark but rather do a very, very, very soft howl on the rare instance I want to get your attention.

Speedy would thrive in an active home environment that could provide him with lots of interactive playtime; a large fenced yard for running and leaping (tall fence given he can leap); a home with lots of patience and energy to provide him with mental outlets; a home willing to spend time on training; and a home that can provide boundless aerobic activities.
Speedy has had limited exposure to cats, during such times he ignored them. Speedy gets along with other dogs, but the other dogs need to being accepting of puppy play and not being a dominant dog. Speedy is a great running partner as he does not pull on the leash and he welcomes strangers and other dogs. Speedy has done excellent on-leash with groups of small children petting him, however, he needs some training off-leash to stop the leaping.
If you think I might be a good match for your family, please submit an adoption interest form via email to my foster dad mwest@valleydogs.org and he will get in touch with you.
