Jethro's Story...
I am really very sweet and goofy - don't let my size and looks fool you! My previous owner moved and left me in the basement with no light, food or water for a week. So I'm glad I made it to the shelter in one piece, but now I want a real home - a loving home where I know I will be loved and taken care. I get along with other dogs, but I do need work on my house training. I haven't been around cats, so it might be better to start me off not being around them. Won't you give me a chance?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jethro, a Richmond German Shepherd Dog/Saluki dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Saluki for sale in Richmond, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Saluki dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Saluki breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Saluki rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
