Ellie-Adopted's Story...
04/17/10 - This is Ellie's Story: Several months ago Ellie was found by Animal Control, abandoned, alone, wandering the streets; pregnant and starving. Angels on Wheels got to Ellie and her pups when the pups were about 5 weeks old.

Ellie was very thin and suffering from an infection from her ordeal when she arrived, but she has recovered wonderfully in a foster home in Elk Grove Village where she has gained some nicely needed pounds and is now a very healthy, happy 18 pound beautiful girl. The foster mom says Ellie is doing very well with her crate training, as well as with her potty training. We aren't sure if she was housetrained prior, so the foster mom started over with potty training 101 just to be sure, and Ellie is doing very well. She gets a bit distracted watching all of the squirrels outside and sometimes forgets to poop outside, but her wonderful foster mom is working on that. This is probably the first time Ellie has been healthy, happy, and able to run with a fenced in yard to play in and life is good for her...she is just excited and forgets. We are confident she will adjust.

Throughout this experience Ellie has remained loving, affectionate, sweet and good-natured. All she needs now is a good home and someone to love her for the rest of long life. We really aren't sure what her mix is, but we also don't think it really matters because she just that sweet. Whoever is lucky enough to adopt Ellie, will have a wonderful companion forever. We think Ellie is between 1-3 years old, and remain around 20 pounds. Ellie loves to play with her toys, people and the other dogs. Ellie also enjoys being cuddled and sitting with her foster parents being petted and loved. Ellie’s foster mom says that she loves to watch the squirrels. Her foster mom can't say enough about out sweet natured Ellie is. She says Ellie is a just a wonderful, sweet, gentle, playful soul. She is not an old soul. Ellie likes to play, she is still a young dog.

There are not children in the foster home that Ellie is in, but Ellie is a very loving, gentle soul and we're sure she will be good with children. Once you meet her, we are sure you will agree. We know she is good with other animals because the home she is in now has other dogs and a cat and she gets along great with them all.

Elli's adoptionf ee is $225.00 which includes Ellie to receive a routine vaccination plus a booster, rabies vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, now spayed and micro chipped, treated with monthly revolution while in our care for the prevention of fleas and heart worm, deworming with Panacure, teeth cleaning, already groomed, and any other medical expenses Ellie may need. All of our adopted dogs receive a free 30 minute evaluation with a certified dog trainer, and a free office visit with Crest Hill Cat and Dog Vet Clinic. All is all vetted, bathed and groomed, sweet as can be and waiting for you.

If you are interested in adopting Ellie please call 630-863-3474 for more information, or go to angelsonwheelsanimalrescue.com to complete an adoption application.

Ellie is a wonderful soul, and has won over the hearts of everyone she has met so far, I promise you if you give her a chance, she will win your heart as well. Thank you for thinking of adoption first, and Ellie looks forward to meeting you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ellie-Adopted, a Naperville Schnauzer (Miniature)/Cairn Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Cairn Terrier for sale in Naperville, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Cairn Terrier dog from a breeder in Naperville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Naperville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Naperville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature)/Cairn Terrier breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature)/Cairn Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Naperville paves the way for another one to be saved.
