Molly's Story...
This is Molly. She is a very sweet 1 year old lab. She is so young and yet already heartworm positive. She was treated and she is ready to go into a foster home. Molly is very sweet but a little scared of what is going on after spending time at Animal Control (it is quite scary in there), then on a car for a long drive, then to the vet to get so many shots in her. Molly is looking for a quiet foster home where she can recover from her treatment and feel secure. After a couple of day with our lovely vet techs, she is already coming out of her shell. She is very sweet and laid-back and in no time she will show us her true personality. It is incredibly rewarding to foster dogs like Molly and watch them coming out of their shell. Give it a try and you will not regret it!

UPDATE ON MOLLY: Molly has really come out of her shell. Despite being timid upon arrival, and recently treated for heart worm, she warmed right up and was eager to please with kisses. She walks well one a leash with her tail wagging the whole time. She loves to give pig puppy smiles and roll around in the grass. She doesn't mind being brushed and she loves a good belly rub. She is a sweet girl and she is sure to make anyone a very happy lab owner!

UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER MOM:
Molly is a very playful girl who is still learning how to communicate with other dogs. She thinks everyone is a friend and wants to play immediately. She is crate trained and hasn't had any accidents in the house. She also walks well on a leash and loves to roll around in the grass. She is very sweet but I think someone trained her with a heavy hand in the past since she's a little face shy. She is good with cats but very curious and likes to sniff and poke at them- trying to play with them too.

UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER MOM: Molly is a very sweet, medium to high energy girl, who loves long walks and belly rubs. She is very playful with other dogs and likes to wrestle and play rough but also rolls around in the grass and is content to be alone. She actually will throw the tennis ball for herself and bounce around playing with it. She is completely potty trained and is very quiet in her crate. I think she was once trained with a heavy hand because she is a little face shy with new people, but she quickly warms up to everyone. She knows sit and walks well on a leash and is a good running buddy. Molly will get along best with a confident dog who doesn't mind her roughhousing (some shyer dogs can take offense). Molly is also good with tolerant cats.

UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER MOM: Molly is doing wonderfully! She has learned to play fetch like a pro and her coat is so shiny and beautiful- surprisingly even after a roll in the dirt. She loves to lay and chew a bone next to her foster brother (cat), Wonton and enjoys following him around the house. She walks well on a leash and loves going on walks around the neighborhood. Molly is such a sweet, affectionate girl who is looking for a family to call her own.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Molly, a Cumming Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Cumming, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Cumming.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cumming already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cumming breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cumming paves the way for another one to be saved.
