My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet CLIFFORD: His story is a sad one that I hope turns out better. Here is his story as told by his foster Mom: He was rescued him from a home where he lived outside in a yard with lots of other dogs, with whatever spoiled food was left on the ground for them and old, dirty rain water to drink. There were a couple of dog houses but really not adequate shelter for all of them. He was born with contracted hind leg muscles, so he's never been able to bend his back legs. He learned to walk and run just the same, only he looks kind of funny almost hopping when he does. As a matter of fact, he loves to play fetch with his squeaky toy. His dad was a boxer mix, his mother a ? lab/bassett mix? She could have just about anything in her, very short legs which she gave to Clifford. He is about 4 years old now, and I had him neutered after I rescued him. His shots are all up to date and we have had him on heartworm prevention. He weighs about 50 pounds, although you would never know it. He looks smaller than that, but his chest and front legs are incredibly strong because he uses them primarily to support himself. He seems to love kids, and he does like other dogs, although he and my male dog have had some jealousy issues and fought a few times. Out in the yard they would run and play together. I'm not sure how he would do with another dog in a permanent home situation, maybe a female would be better. He also should not be with cats. He has a history of hurting one after chasing her and I would hate for him to do that to someone's pet. He would do better in a cat free home. Please help Clifford. Let's show him there are good people in the world!
