Lucy's Story...
Our lovely Lucy is a typical Dalmatian: playful and spirited, outgoing and friendly. She's an easy walk in the park (no major leash pulling), and she will need plenty of exercise so she doesn't become bored and destructive, just like any other energetic and intelligent dog. Lucy is very bright, and wants to learn what it is she can do, so a guardian with gentle, but firm and consistent handling is ideal, as Dalmatians tend to be rather sensitive. Someone with knowledge of this breed would be an ideal guardian for Lucy. Dalmatians tend to like children, so Lucy may work in a household with kids twelve and older.

Act quickly to adopt Lucy. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Berkeley Dalmatian dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dalmatian for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Dalmatian dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dalmatian breeders who help with Dalmatian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
