Trooper's Story...
Hello World!

My name is Trooper. I'm still a puppy of 7 months, and only weigh about 12 pounds. But I have a great big heart and a fabulous personality in my little body. Mom says that if she had room for another dog, she would keep me herself because I'm so "cute and endearing." Awwww, thanks, Mom!

Let me tell you a little about myself. First of all, as you can see from my picture, I'm a pretty unique looking little guy. (I guess you could call me "shabby chic"…?) Anyway, you've probably heard of a "lap dog" before. (It's kind of like a "laptop" only a lot more cute and snuggly.) Well, that’s me! Any time I see a person, and that person has a lap, that's right where I want to be. I figured out how to look up at Mom and make the "please" face, and she always gives in and lets me cuddle with her. Sometimes I roll myself into a tiny ball next to her and just fall asleep.

I like to play, too, of course. One thing I do that makes everybody laugh is play with my toys like a cat, tossing them in the air and pouncing on them. And I have a lot of fun running around and rough-housing with dogs my size. Sometimes when I first go out in the yard, I just feel so happy, if the sun is shining and my people are around, that I start running in figure 8 's around the lawn. Mom and Dad said it's pretty funny to watch! And I really like kids, as long as they're gentle. (A house with older, thoughtful kids would be best for a tiny guy like me.) In fact, I get along great with everybody…. except pigs. Pigs are just…. weird. But everybody else, I love!

Still, my favoritest thing is still to be with my people. In fact, I follow Mom around like a little shadow through the house. Dad says to tell you that I am also very smart. I'm always alert for a chance to go on a car ride. Going in the car is so fun, and I always ride very quietly and nicely so I will get to go again! Of course, I am completely housebroken. And Mom says I would actually make a good watch-dog, because I bark if somebody comes near the house, but otherwise I'm pretty quiet. And at night, I will sleep on a big fluffy pillow, although sometimes I get to sleep on the human bed, and then I am just in doggy heaven!!!

Anyway, Mom describes me as "the best of both worlds", because I am a cuddly lap dog and also a fun, playful puppy. She says that if you're looking for a sweet, obedient, cuddlebug, then I'm your guy! So if that sounds like a good fit to you, please complete our application at and ask for Trooper. I'll be curled up on a lap, waiting.

Gentle love and kisses,

Trooper the Tiny Treasure

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trooper, a La Costa Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in La Costa, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) puppy from a breeder in La Costa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in La Costa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a La Costa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in La Costa paves the way for another one to be saved.
