Penelope's Story...
This sweet girl is Penelope - Penny for short. She's a lovely caramel colored 8 month old Lab mix who must be mixed with something small because she weighs only about 35 pounds. She appears to be fully housebroken and knows some basic commands, such as "Sit" and "Come." Penny is a playful pup who loves to play fetch and has a couple of favorite chew toys, but she can also appreciate a good nap. She limits her chewing to toys, which makes her foster mom and dad pretty happy! Penny gets along well with her canine foster sister and seems to love just about everyone. She's also a very quiet girl and hasn't even barked yet since coming into foster care.

If you have a fenced yard and think Penny will fit in well with your household, please give us a call to find out where you can meet Penny! Please contact Liz at 913-226-2694 or liz_novak@hotmail.com to find out when and where you can meet PENNY!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penelope, a Overland Park Labrador Retriever/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Beagle for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Beagle dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Beagle breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
