My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Honey is a sweet cat who craves attention. She loves people, hugs, and drinking from the faucet. Honey is completely declawed. Honey has been looking for her forever home for several years now.

Honey was initially taken to the HSWM in 2007 from a hoarding situation with over 70 cats. FOF agreed to "foster" 12 of these cats to help out. They were supposed to be returned to HS for adoption when space became available. However one of the other 70 cats from the hoarder was diagnosed with FIP. The HS euthanized all remaining cats as they had been exposed to the corona virus. (This is an unnecessary action as FIP itself is NOT contagious. It is not necessary to euthanize cats that have been exposed to FIP. For more information on FIP and Corona virus please visit www.veterinarypartner.com)

Just the 12 we had taken on a foster basis were still alive. But HS would not place them for adoption so at that point we decided to keep them. We found homes for all the cats. Honey did get adopted in 2008. Unfortunately, she was returned for not using the litterbox. We discovered she actually had crystals which cause very painful urination and the litterbox avoidance. An Rx diet cleared the crystals and cured the litterbox problem; but she does need Rx food for the rest of her life to prevent them from reforming.

Honey would be best as an only cat where she can get the attention she craves. Wont you please consider meeting her and giving her a permanent place in your home and most importantly in your heart.

Honey is currently in a foster home. Therefore, please call (616-826-0927) or email to set up an appointment to meet this wonderfully deserving girl!
