Pee Wee is one large boy who was going to be euthanized simply because no one chose to adopt him and his time was up. Thankfully we were able to get this boy just in time. With a bath and new environment, Pee Wee couldn't be a happier dog. We should have called him Shadow since he won't let his foster mom go anywhere without him. He's currently in foster care with other dogs and is fine with them, but should be separated when away. Pee Wee walks really well on a leash and will walk right along side of you. He is a lover boy and will give tons of kisses. He is well mannered and doesn't jump and seems to bark when he is playing with other dogs or if he hears sirens. He will need a family that can handle his size and where the children are in their teens or an adult-only family since he will easily knock children over. He also likes to stop right in front of you, walk sideways into you, and, well, basically he'll do anything to be touching you. His new family will need to take him on long walks since he loves it!

Lucky Dog Rescue came into existence after one individual started saving one dog at a time back in late March of 2004. It began as a Dalmatian rescue, originally named Phoenix Dalmatian Station.
After seeing so many nice, highly adoptable dogs sitting in concrete cells in the county shelters, being put to sleep when no one came to the rescue, it quickly evolved into an all breed commitment, and we began saving several other breeds and mixes too! We are now a growing group of dog lovers who help all breeds and are committed to giving dogs a second chance at finding a forever home.

Our current adoption fee for adults (> 8 months old) is $200 and for puppies (< 8 months old) the fee is $250. The Adoption fee for senior dogs (7+ years) is $150. These fees cover the shots, microchipping, neuter/spay surgery and vet check for the dog.
Before an adoption can take place we do require that all potential adopters fill out an application. Once the application has been approved a home visit may be conducted. All adopters must sign a contract in order to finalize the adoption.
