I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Skippy is looking for a forever family to call his own. He has been with Four Paws Rescue and waiting for his forever family for a long time. Please give this sweet, sweet boy a chance!
Skippy is great with other dogs, cats and kids. He has a lot of energy and would love to be your hiking buddy. He has learned his name, and the commands 'come' and 'sit' thanks to his love of treats (he is still easily distracted though). Due to time away from his forever home, he has some anxiety about stairs and slippery floors but is willing to try new things with encouragement from his people. Skippy is so inquisitive and wants to hurry and catch up on all the things he has missed up until now. Skippy is also house-trained and crate-trained. He loves people and attention. Skippy tends to warm up to women quicker than men. We think he may have been abused by a man in his past. He is not aggressive in any way towards men, he's just scared of them at first and will flinch/cower if a man raises his hand up. He warms up fairly quickly to men, though, especially if they are patient and give him a few treats.
Skippy is about 3 years old and is Red Heeler/Beagle mix (we think). He has the face and coloring of a Beagle, and the tail and body of a Heeler. Skippy is medium sized weighing approximately 40 pounds.
Skippy's adoption fee is $125 which includes his neuter surgery and vaccinations (rabies and parvo/distemper). We show dogs by appointment or at adoption events. Four Paws Rescue is a private, 501(c)3, volunteer-run organization that is dedicated to helping homeless dogs and cats. Four Paws has been rescuing dogs and cats since 2000. We rescue stray and abandoned cats, dogs, puppies and kittens from high-kill shelters, place them in caring foster homes (if available) and then adopt them into loving, life-long home.
Since our shelter is not set up for drop by visits, appointments can be made with our Director to meet any dog in person. Just leave a detailed message with Lisa (Director) at 435-752-3534 or email her volunteer at scfourpaws@hotmail.com.
Our adoption fees range from $125-200. Each pet is spayed or neutered, and current on rabies, parvo and distemper vaccinations
Four Paws Rescue is located in Cache Valley in Northern Utah. We mainly focus on Utah and surrounding states adoptions, but have done a few out-of-state adoptions as well.
