Maggie's Story...
When my owner got a new job, she decided I should be chained outside while she was gone. As you might imagine, I didn’t like that too well! Why would I want to stay outside on a chain when I had always been in our house before? I cried to let her know my sorrow and then she took me to the pound. FOHA rescued me from there, and I’m so thankful. I was thankful for my own life this Thanksgiving, and know that Christmas is coming I’m asking Santa for a new home. I love spending time with other dogs and people of all ages. I am housetrained, even after my short stint on a chain. I’m very smart and eager to please, too. Won’t you make my wish come true and adopt me as your loving and faithful family member? (PLEASE NOTE: I can only be adopted in the DC Metropolitan area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maggie, a Aldie Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
