Fergie's Info...

I am up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Fergie's Story...
Not sure why my mommy's owner had to bring her into the shelter when she was about to give birth to us, but there we were! Mommy was so relieved when that nice lady came to bring her home. She cared for her and us until we were ready to go to RI. I am sweet and cuddly and have the black and tan coloring of a Dachshund. I should be less than 10 pounds when grown. I am 11 weeks old and will get my second set of shots before leaving rescue. I am fine with older, respectful (only) children and other,non-aggressive dogs. Please ask about me if you are in RI, eastern CT, Cape Cod or are near Boston, Worcester (MA) or the Litchfield, CT border. Please call my foster mommy Judy at 401 67-0513 with any more questions. Would love a fur-ever family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fergie, a Foster Dachshund/Rat Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Rat Terrier for sale in Foster, or seeking a Dachshund/Rat Terrier puppy from a breeder in Foster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Foster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Foster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Rat Terrier breeders who help with Dachshund/Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Foster paves the way for another one to be saved.
