Shadow, Jr.'s Story...
I'm a handsome boy named Shadow Jr. My owners dumped me at the county pound because they were moving. They didn't even ask me if I wanted to go. Of course I would have said yes, that's my family! I thought we were going to be together forever! I thought that's how families worked! I'm so distressed by being abandoned like that, and I've been begging and pleading for someone to help me understand why this happened. Did I not love them enough? Did I not do enough tricks for them? I gave them everything I had. I'm housetrained and always on my best behavior, and I'm so eager to please. If they would have just told me what I needed to do better, I would have done it. I love to ride in the car and my rescuer even took me shopping at PetsMart. I also love other dogs, and playing with them here has really helped me feel better. I don't think the hole in my heart can be filled with anything but a new family to love though. Loving other dogs just isn't the same. How could any family not love such a dear boy? (PLEASE NOTE: I can only be adopted in the DC Metropolitan area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shadow, Jr., a Aldie Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
